Arriving in Prague

We’ve arrived in Prague, but not without a 30+ hour ordeal. Our flight from Kansas City to Chicago was canceled. The replacement flight resulted in a 10 hour layover in Chicago. Our flight to Prague via Lisbon on TAP (Air Portugal) was delayed and further complicated by an archaic boarding process requiring all digital phone boarding passes to be replaced with paper boarding cards. But, thankfully we arrived safely in Lisbon. Our connecting flight to Prague with TAP was also delayed and suffered from another inefficient boarding system. But, thankfully we arrived safely in Prague.

Then we dealt with our Airbnb hosts’ treasure hunt instructions which read roughly:From the airport take bus 119 to the last stop, take the metro 6 stops, exit and take multiple rights, multiple lefts and then behind the kebob shop enter a door code, take the lift to the 4th floor, enter another code to a lockbox on the wall and receive your keys, exit outside and walk past the Kafka Head Statue through a glass building, take tram #2 for 2 stops, walk back 2 blocks and turn left. And here we are…..welcome to Prague!

All said and done, we were quite pleased with our accommodations. A large updated one bedroom apartment in an older building, located in a pleasant neighborhood across the river from the chaotic Old City, yet an easy 20 minute walk away. Now we look forward to exploring Prague.
