Exploring Prague & The Astronomical Clock

Exploring Prague

Prague's a city of church spires, and beautiful old world buildings, many like the Municipal House, with delightful Art Nouveau elements. However, we found the central Old City simply bursting with tourists. And with the tourists come the gift shops, ATM machines every 20 feet and overpriced restaurants with food photo menus. The throngs of people on the Charles bridge crossing the Vltava river which divides Prague, at times appears impassable.

Ok, we're here in the height of tourist season something we generally try to avoid when making travel plans.Tammy and I prefer to be out and about by 7am or earlier to wander through the city streets devoid of tourists. In this way we can truly appreciate this beautiful city.

The Astronomical Clock

'The Honest Guide' series of youtube videos were extremely helpful in planning our visit to Prague. Two locals offer great advise on getting around, avoiding money exchange offices and unnecessary ATM charges.
