The Packing List

So, what to pack in my 22” x 14” x 9” carry-on bag for one year? For the most part we will be experiencing countries with warm/summer weather. However, some destinations we will visit during shoulder seasons which could mean chilly nights. But generally speaking, large bulky winter jackets and sweaters will not be required.

At this point I should mention that the majority of our clothes are lightweight travel designs made from synthetic fabrics which feature moisture wicking, low odor, and quick drying properties. Our socks are all ‘smart wool’ which are also moisture wicking, low odor and quick dry.

Here’s what my packing list looks like thus far:

2 Pair long sleeve shirts (vented with roll up sleeves)

1 Short sleeve shirt (vented)

3 T shirts

3 Pair long pants (2 convert to shorts)

1 Pair swim trunks

1 Cool weather base layer set (1 long sleeve top / 1 pant)

7 pair smart wool socks

1 Baseball cap (CTRM logo / For my “Onrust” shipmates at the CT River Museum in Essex CT)

1 Hooded rain jacket / windbreaker

1 “Nano Puff” Jacket (lightweight insulated pullover which compacts into its pocket)

1 Pair hiking shoes

1 Pair Sneakers

1 Pair water shoes

1 travel clothesline
