Here we are in Konstanz Germany, a peculiar enclave located south of the Rhine river on Lake Constance. While most of the terrain south of the Rhine and the southern shore of lake Constance is either Swiss, or Austrian, we are in Germany. It is all very confusing, on Lake Constance or the Bodensee, as to which country has control over the lake, Germany, Switzerland, or Austria. Apparently it is all very fluid (see the video below).
In any case we are enjoying our lakeside location, since we both have spent the majority of our lives along the coast of Connecticut, and do miss the water.

The unusual statue at the entrance to the harbor, the woman Imperia, has an interesting story. She is a courtesan who holds the naked figures of a pope in one hand and an emperor in her other hand, both represented as fools, part of a harsh satire of power, a common theme from contemporary artist Peter Link. The statue rotates on her axis completely every three minutes.
The dockside is a wonderful spot to appreciate the last hours of the evening sun with a couple of Beers (it's Germany), and watch the locals and the tourists alike enjoy the waterfront.
