We've arrived in Florence, a very walkable city with narrow streets leading somewhere, nowhere or into a grand piazza. Divided by the river Arno, Florence has the tourist side with the Duomo (Cathedral), Campanelle (Bell Tower), Art museums, and a multitude of Trattorias (small restaurants), Osteria (Wine bar), Gelateria (ice cream), Bakeries and shops of all sorts. We decided to stay on the other side of the river in the Oltrarno district, a quiet neighborhood where the locals live. This is also an area where many craftsmen maintain small shops, like the 2 cobblers we saw producing handmade shoes.

Florence looks beautiful. Did you buy a pair of shoes? Bet they cost a pretty euro! Connie
