Pasta.....Pasta

Whenever we arrive in a new city we spend the first day wandering the streets. Our first walk is the best way to get the lay of the land and we invariably find the city market, a great place for fresh produce and cheap eats. In the Florence Mercato, there was no shortage of provisions and great lunch options. We veered away from the long line for tripe sandwiches and chose the fresh pasta cooked to order. The truffle ravioli with olive oil and parmesan cheese did not disappoint. But this was just the beginning of our pasta day.....

Our evening dinner in our Oltrarno neighborhood was all about more fresh pasta. A tagliatelle with pomodoro basil and a tagliatelle with a traditional Tuscan ragu, complemented by a nice Tuscan house red. There can never be enough fresh pasta!
