Under the Tuscan Rain

Into each life some rain must fall. This holds true for life in Tuscany as well. While we found ourselves with several days of light rain we still managed to make our way to Montepulcianno for a walk through the medieval and renaissance hill town.

Sign Describing the Panoramic View

While the views from Montepulcianno today were a bit underwhelming we still managed to enjoy meandering through the town. Down one narrow alley, we happened upon the workshop of a coppersmith. He invited us in to view his operation, posed for the camera, and of course gave directions to the shop which sold his wares. I love these chance encounters with local characters.

During the afternoon, we had no choice but to seek shelter from the weather at the nearby Cantalici winery.
