Next Stop: KAS


We arrive in Kas, our next stop along the Turquoise coast, via the regional busThis former fishing village now caters to the tourist trade, although on a much smaller scale than both Bodrum and Fethiye, our last two stays. Hugging the shore and in the shadow of looming mountain cliffs, Kas has a snug welcoming small town feel. In addition to the pleasant little harbor, there are narrow streets with shops and restaurants and shady public spaces ready for us to explore.

On Friday, our second day in town, I hear the sound of drums and horns winding down the main  street. They appear and then just as suddenly disappear. What is up with these spontaneous musical eruptions?
