On our last day in Cappadocia we decided to hike the rose valley, so named for the color of the rock at sunset. Finding the entrance to the trail was a bit of a challenge, but luckily we intercepted a tour guide heading for the trail. Along the route we were able to access a number of carved rock dwellings and monastic chapels. While our journey began in a walled valley, as we continued to rise in elevation, we were rewarded with magnificent vistas.
