Here in Fethiye, we are staying in an Airb&b, which allows us to stretch our budget by cooking some of our meals at home. With that in mind we relish trips to the local produce markets which are here on Friday and Tuesday. Just walking through the endless rows of stalls displaying heaps of fresh fruit and veg is a great experience. Many vendors will offer samples: melon slices, nuts, homemade butter and cheese, all of which they assure me, are offered at the very best price!In the food court there are numerous makeshift Gozleme (pancake) restaurants, one after the other all vying for our business. We settle on a busy stand with an animated owner and 2 cooks, all quickly dispatching orders. We work on the principle that if a restaurant is popular with locals, it most likely delivers good food at a good value.
