Who doesn't love a trolley? I fully understand that the vintage trolley car that runs the length of Istanbul's Istiklal street is there in part for tourists, but it still makes my inner child very happy. My first encounter with trams was as a young boy visiting my grandmother in Bremen, Germany. The Strassenbahn (streetcar) passed in front of our house on Buntentorstienweg, and I often hopped on board with great excitement and explored the city. Riding this little tram in Istanbul was just fun!
