Kep Crab Market

A 50 minute scooter ride down the coast from Kampot is the small seaside town of Kep, most famous for its crab market. We arrived early enough in the morning to witness the sorting and packing of the daily catch. There were multiple stalls selling grilled fish, shrimp, and styrofoam containers of deep fried crabs. But our new favorite snack is grilled squid on a stick with pepper sauce. This is clearly the place to buy fresh seafood or lunch at the many waterside seafood restaurants, all featuring local crabs with stalks of fresh green Kampot pepper.
