We arrived by train this afternoon in the City of Augsburg. We were both pleased to find such lovely Airbnb accommodations on a small street just a few doors down from the Bertolt Brecht Haus. In order to enter our flat we need to cross a small bridge over a little canal. The next day we discovered that not only does water run in front of our building, but flows along the back as well.
A word on the playwright and poet Bertolt Brecht, since the house of his birth is just a few doors down from us. My cousin Ingrid's husband Robert, gleefully relayed to me the following quote from Brecht:
“The best thing about Augsburg, is the train to Munich”
To be fair Robert is proud of his city, Munich, and is looking forward to guiding us through his beautiful city later this week. So, I guess we will also be taking the train to Munich.
